You need to know their views on the issue you are talking about, then you will be able to have either a stronger argument or reinforce their beliefs in the topic. Research is important so you get all of the facts so you have ammunition to back up your views, and prewriting is a good way to brainstorm before you really get into building your paper. You can learn more about your audience by finding out about their side of the issue and that way, you have more to prove your point.

It is important to know things about your audience such as their education, location, and life styles. Knowing these is critical in making sure your paper is directed at them and that the readers can understand your paper better. You can learn more about your audience simply but having surveys or questionnaires.

When writing a paper it is important to know the age, level of education, beliefs, political party, and view point of your audience. Research is important to your audience because you want to keep your audience interested and it will help reinforce points to maybe sway them to your side. You can learn more about your audience by listening to their view points and responses.

Knowing who I am writing to is critical. I talk to professionals differently than I say the ski or bike club. And if those professionals are electrical engineers I may use jargon they would be familiar with. Also I want to know if I am "preaching to the choir" Is my audience on my side or do I have to win them over.

You need to know everything about your audience that you can demographics, religious views, etc. Knowing who your talkin, or writting to helps you to better communicate with them. I think research on your audience is important because you have to know what angle to take, what language to use what jargon is appropriate for each certain audience that you might be addressing. There are lots of ways to learn about your audience, of course the best way is have professional statistical analysis taken which usually can't be done by the average person because they wouldn't know what they are doing but if you had the money to hire someone that is a good way to learn what you need to know about your audience.

Knowing the demographics and beliefs of your audience is important; sometimes their religion and political affiliation as well if possible. Doing research helps reinforce the point you are trying to communicate and you may even find information you previously weren't aware of that supports or detracts from your issue. When you've finally got all your research together, you can back up your topic and also have counterpoints to the opposition's claims. Prewriting helps sort out all the ideas; You can then refine and tweak your paper to suit the audience it is you are presenting to. You can find out more from your audience by having them do a short survey, or by personally talking to a few people to get a general idea of what the majority are thinking, then you can work from there.

the audience ultimately are the individuals targeted for the specific paper the writer is addressing to. it is important to think about the audience when researching and prewriting the paper because it helps with the credibility of the writer and also to make sure that he or she has the right sources to back up the writer's pov. a writer can learn more about their audience by finding what their viewpoints are such as listening and how they respond to questions.

In order to make an effective argument, one most know the audience that you are trying to persuade. Preparation is key, when trying to win an argument because you have to be prepared for any rebuttle that may be handed to you. In order to persuade, you have to get inside your audience's head so you can make a stronger argument.

You need to know what they like and dislike. What they think about the issue are talking about. Other things come in to account also like education, where they live at.
