I think that language is the way that beings communicate with each other. Whether it be humans communicating with other humans, animals communicating with other animals, humans communicating with animals etc... We use language in everything we do verbal language, sign language, body language however beings communicate. I've never been in a virtual environment but i would assume that for the most part language would stay the same real or virtual environment. Amber Weatherford

I think that language is a way to interact with other people. We use language to send and receive information, express ourselves, and to convey feelings. Language changes in a cirtual environment by the use of sounds, symbols, jargon, gestures and anything else that is used to communicate.

I believe that language is anything that anybody use to communicate. Weather it sign language or symbols. We use language in many different way from facial expression to using our hands. I don't think language really change in the virtual environment. You might get away with saying things that you might not get away with in real life, because no one knows that really you in the virtual world.

Language is the means of communicating with something. It can be letters, symbols, and even body movements and gestures. We use language to convey or thoughts and ideas to one another. In a virtual environment I think language remains pretty much the same as it is in reality.

language is the way we communicate with one another, not necessarily just the regular speech, but also with the use of body languages and other forms. it is impossible for us to communicate without language. i think language in the virtual world is pretty much the same but with more usage on computer slang and in this virtual world, we are perceived differently due to the way we design our facades.

Language is the word associated with any verbal or written system of communication. This means that any set of symbols, letter, numbers or otherwise can be considered a language if they are able to be deciphered as monikers for common or uncommon things, by at least one person. Language changes on a daily basis, and in the age of the internet in a gradually more and more connected society, language is typically abbreviated, punctuation often finds itself on the sidelines of our daily lives, and syntax and grammar very often are replaced with quick, concise messages, very often lacking the formal dress so often associated with written communication. Verbally, our language is changing to include more and more "Digital Rhetoric" as it has been called. Terms that refer to technological breakthroughs, gaming jargon, and internet slang, are finding their way into our everyday life. In late 2007, merriam webster dictionary declared the word "WOOT" as the word of the year, because it represented a blending of technology and fun in our daily lives.

It is said that spoken or written language is a small percentage of communication/language. Three and a half years ago I married a Puerto Rican lady and I have been trying to pick up spanish. The endeavor has caused me to look at my native language. I have found that much of our language, spoken at least, it contextual. Phrases can mean different things based on what is said before and after. This said the dictionary definition is the only assurance one has the what they are saying will be understood to me=an what they what to convey.

Language to me means communicating with someone. There are many languages people around the world use to talk to each other and without it, we'd all be lost. It's a way to talk to each other and understanding each other by using a common ground. There are different types of languages, not just verbal. There's also sign language and body language. It's just whichever way you want to express yourself, although it would be hard for some people to express themselves one way because they are limited to what they can do.

Language is a form of communicating between humans. There are different types such as verbal and body, and they are all interchangeable, so we can communicate a point. In a virtual setting language sometimes gets distorted and it is hard to convey certain moods and put words into context e.g. sarcasm, unless otherwise noted. Sometimes it's a given and other times some people get offended. You have to differentiate between a person being serious or being jestful.

what is language it is what we use to communicate between ourself and others. It is also amazing because it is not something you hold it is sounds and words being said to one another, but every language is not the same there are several different types of languages. We can not understand all, but there are ways for us to learn new languages. We use language to communicate. It changes in the virtual environment because it can be symbols or certain types of commands that you have to use to communicate with others and there companies.

Language is any form of communication. We use language for everything. We use it to talk, identify objects, express our selves. Language in a virtual world can be completely different. It can have its own language. Some things such as text abbreviations or words may be different depending on perspective.

as I was saying, communication is based on words but our tone, body gestures and volume carry most of the message. Textual communication eliminates body gestures and tone ( audible), but in a virtual world, online, communication is enhanced by the use of graphics, colors, and sounds. It is possible for the viewer to turn any or all of this off through. Ergo, unlike face to face communication we can not count on the audio, color or graphics.
